Broken Conditioned Heart of Humanity

I have been following a story that has broken my heart in many different ways.

The story is about Pakistan; the flood waters in Pakistan.

The flood waters in Pakistan have been triggered by monsoon rains and it has destroyed crops, villages in their entirety, and has also caused rapid spread of disease among the flood victims.

The part that perplexes me is that 2 days after this occurred international aid said they could not reach the flood victims and they were trying their best to help. As I am watching this being reported on CNN by a reporter that is standing in Pakistan in the midst of the flood waters. My question is how did this English speaking reporter get here and international aid can not figure out how to make a dent in this horrifying situation.

The other part that is so heart breaking is that the world does not care. The international community is not rushing to give aid as they did in Haiti, there are no telethons on TV to support the efforts, and no radio hosts are speaking about this grave devastation.

What are the reasons for this lack of response? People are suffering in Pakistan as they still are in Haiti, lives have been lost and changed forever as Haiti, and there is a definite apparent need for help as Haiti.

Why is there no cry out from humanity for these people that are suffering?

Maybe it is because the death toll in Pakistan is estimated to be ONLY at 1100. But I say one life lost is one too many. Maybe its because they are so far away that it is easy to turn our backs because now they are someone else's problem. But I say when you don't cry out for your brother or sister, who will cry for you when you need help. Maybe its because they are a different religion. But I say that religion is man made but humanity is not.

I feel like the spirit of humanity is crying right now because we have failed it again.

I guess only lights, camera, and action determines what cause we will focus our time and energy.

So to that I say, cheers to you humanity for you have just been bamboozled into thinking your life and this world is only as great as the most recent popular snap shot.

Go beyond the borders of your mind and your self-imposed limitations.
God Bless You and Keep You Pakistan!!!!!!!
